Reach for the Top Therapy Services, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was founded in 2014 after the Easterseals Dover branch closed. Reach was founded with a strong commitment to providing comprehensive therapy services focused on a family-centered model, in which the family is included in each session from the evaluation to every visit thereafter. This model sets us apart from other clinics, as we ask families to participate throughout the therapeutic process so we can focus on meeting the family where they and their child are, allowing us to bridge any gaps, learn from each child and family, and provide education to carry over the skills to the home environment. At Reach, we know we are only a small piece of the child and family’s journey, and that they will be better served when they are empowered to co-create the therapeutic strategies that work for them, as they define what success for their child and family looks like.
Reach is a close-knit, supportive, and collaborative group of occupational, physical, and speech therapists, leadership team and support staff! Our therapists provide state-of-the-art therapy in a sensory rich 5,000 square foot clinic that encompasses large sensory integration rooms, a fine motor STEM room, nature nook, quiet speech rooms, an infant/toddler room, a life skills room, a physical therapy gym, and an oral motor and feeding space. We also provide therapies at the Dover indoor pool and at a local barn (hippotherapy).
Under new leadership since 2021, Reach for the Top has committed to a transformational leadership approach where team members’ and families’ voices are heard in order to continually tailor our therapy model. Reach is committed to growth, as demonstrated by our new mentorship program, monthly case-care collaboration hour, weekly ‘Lunch & Learns’ to help clinicians develop their skill set to their fullest potential, and Wellness Wednesday with Yoga and Mindfulness for staff self-care. We also invite guest speakers with exceptional needs to voice their own experiences and needs, which helps shape our therapies and supports as we adapt to a philosophy based in patient informed and neurodiversity affirming therapies.
Reach is committed to comprehensive, fun, creative, strengths-based intervention plans following best-practice standards of care, while also excelling at building warm and genuine relationships with the families we serve. Contact us today, to see how your needs and skills can help Reach grow – as a family member seeking services, an employee, a student, a volunteer, a donor, or a board member. We are always looking to grow the Reach family!
